For nearly a decade, we've been working with the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute to make sure that from design to end of life, every Dopper bottle is made with the highest regard for the planet.
Dopper is a Certified B Corporation, using business as a force for good. As a Certified B Corp we meet high standards of social and environmental performance. And a regular recertification process pushes us to continuously improve even further.
With our most recent Impact Score of 132.8, we're part of the global top 10% of highest-scoring B Corps in the world.
In the Environment impact area, we landed in the top 5% of companies with 10-49 employees: Best For The World.
Since 2022, we are a Certified Carbon Neutral company. We've reduced our carbon emissions as much as we currently can, and officially compensate the remainder. For example:
To offset what we do emit, we work with a certified sequestration program. Meaning we invest in long-term projects that will continue to absorb carbon from the atmosphere in the future.
We exist to make a positive impact. That includes guaranteeing that our team and the people our partners employ can do their job safely and are treated fairly.
We adhere to the full amfori BSCI Code of Conduct, and only work with business partners who do the same.
As a Great Place to Work, in 2022 we were part of the top 10 Best Small Workplaces in the Netherlands, as well as the top 25 of Best Small Workplaces in Europe.
Access to water is a human right. Yet an estimated 1 in 10 people worldwide can’t just turn on the tap. In Nepal, the Himalayas offer one of the largest freshwater reservoirs in the world. Yet due to a lack of infrastructure, 24.3 million Nepalis don't have access to basic water services.
That’s why every Dopper bottle sold contributes to the work of our two main partners in Nepal: Dutch NGO Simavi and Kathmandu-based social enterprise SmartPaani. Together, we offer education, raise awareness and kick-start (drinking) water projects in different areas of the country
In 2020, we launched an international movement that’s banning single-use water bottles, to stop them from entering our waters: the Dopper Wave. Over 7,000 individuals and nearly 900 organisations have already signed the pledge, promising to:
1. Ban single-use plastic water bottles
2. Drink from the tap whenever they can
3. Always bring their own reusable bottle
4. Encourage others to join the Dopper Wave too
Together, the more than 1.1 million drops in our Dopper Wave movement are forming a wave with enough impact to actually save our oceans.
To move towards a circular economy, we need to already think about the end of life of a product when we create it. The three-part design of the Dopper bottle doesn't just create a bottle and cup in one. It also extends the life of the bottle, and the materials used.
In 2021, our first ever take-back program became a reality. In collaboration with Dutch retail chain WAAR, we’re taking responsibility for the old, damaged or unused Dopper bottles that are gathering dust in cupboards around the Netherlands.
Because a Dopper bottle at the end of its life can be turned into valuable raw material for new products. We’re currently in the exploratory phase with our recycling partner.
The more you know about a problem, the better you can fix it. It's why we've invested in awareness and education about plastic pollution from day one.
We empowered kids all over the world with the Changemaker Challenge Junior, we help Dopper Wave partners inspire their teams with a tailor-made education program, share our story during free stagetime sessions, organise cleanups for our community and help people find tap water through Google Maps.
The Dopper Glass, the first reusable glass bottle to ever be Cradle to Cradle Certified®Bronze, is the proud winner of a Green Product Award 2021.
The Awards received 1,461 submissions from 51 countries. And our Dopper Glass blew the competition out of the water in the consumer goods category, proving what we've known all along: it's a winning combination of design, quality and functionality. Without ever compromising on sustainability.
Ever wished there were endless Dopper bottle colours to choose from? Or that we’d make one with glitters? We get it. But we won't.
Like everything else we do, our colour and assortment choices are based on sustainability. We won't produce certain colours, because the pigments don't work for the environment. We won't offer you 50 colour options, because we don't support overproduction and -consumption.
The same goes for other material choices. We don't make our steel bottle parts from aluminium, because that requires an extra lining on the inside, making it much more difficult to recycle.
Simple everyday actions. That’s all it takes to prevent large amounts of single-use plastic from entering our oceans. Sound good? Sign the pledge to ban single-use plastic water bottles; promise to drink tap water whenever possible and to always bring your own reusable bottle. You won’t be just a drop in the ocean: you will be a drop in a massive wave.
